Who We Are

Wag-N-Train Dog Rescue & Training, Inc is an all-breed dog rescue located in Central Utah. We are a 501(C)(3) non-profit corporation operated exclusively by volunteers. We are committed to reducing the numbers of homeless and unwanted dogs and to reducing the incidents of euthanasia of healthy, adoptable dogs by placing homeless and unwanted dogs into caring, responsible homes.

We rescue dogs from the pound and place them with loving foster homes who care for them and ready them for adoption and for a small fee we will also assist dog owners who need help in placing their own personal dogs.

We are equally committed to educating the public about the enormous benefits of having a well-trained dog, since many people give up their dogs because of behavior problems and/or lack of training.

Adopting a Dog

Adopting one of our dogs is EASY! We do have an application process, and it usually takes us about 24 hours to process an application. You can download a copy of our adoption application at at www.wagntrain.org (click on the "adoption" paw). Our adoption fees vary. Please check the descriptions on each individual dog. Out-of-state adoptions are $30 more, and adopters are responsible for all transportation and related costs. Although long distances can sometimes complicate matters, it does not make adoption impossible. The adoption fees help us defray veterinary costs, vaccinations, and the care and feeding of rescue dogs. Adjustments to the adoption fee may be made if puppies are not yet old enough to be fixed. Puppies are adopted with the requirement that they be spayed/neutered by the time they are 5-6 months old. Proof of altering must be provided. Contact us and let's see what we can work out. We are willing to work with you!

Obedience Training

Wag-N-Train, Inc. offers reasonably-priced obedience training for the benefit of dogs and their owners. We offer private (one-on-one) training sessions and we also provide group training clinics.

Would you like to have a dog that you can be proud of and who is pleasant to be around? Do these problems sound all too familiar to you: excessive barking; housetraining problems; jumping up on you and your company; dog takes YOU for a walk? We can help!

If you are interested in training for your pet please don't hesitate to contact us. The proceeds we raise from the training sessions directly benefit the rescue dogs in our care and will help us to be able to save more homeless dogs.

Wag-N-Train, Inc. offers a FREE periodic Training and Safety Tips E-Newsletter. Topics have included Crate Training, Housetraining Problems, Holiday Safety Tips, Nail Clipping Problem behavior, Poisonous and Toxic plants, techniques to get your dog to come when he's called, etc.
